Consultancy and engineering firm Arcadis and Blue Module, a startup in ESG software, have signed a letter of intent to collaborate on the proposition and product development for ESG consulting and reporting. The duo announced this on Wednesday June 14th at the PROVADA real estate fair.

ESG stands for Environment, Social, and Governance. The tightened climate and sustainability guidelines from the European Union, such as CSRD and SFDR, are making ESG increasingly important. This, in turn, leads to a growing demand for expert advice and reporting in the real estate sector.

Arcadis holds a prominent position in engineering and consulting services for the built and natural environment, with the ambition to accelerate the transition to a CO2-neutral world.

Blue Module was founded by Jan Willem de Graaf and Paul Wessels. It is a startup that is developing a robust approach to efficiently and structurally unlock ESG information about the built environment and report on it. Whether it's for CSRD (for real estate companies), SFDR (for real estate funds), valuations, or for certification; it can do it all.

In addition, the company is also exploring the possibility of having Blue Module function as a 'decision tool' to provide further ESG support during the design process.

‘Arcadis and Blue Module have complementary skills and enable us to develop a strong joint proposition,’ says Jeroen Westgeest, Commercial Manager / Sector Lead Commercial Developers, for buildings at Arcadis.

‘ESG is the most important theme in the real estate sector in the coming years and requires a change process that touches all parts of the real estate chain. Collaborating with a renowned international party like Arcadis means for Blue Module the guarantee of being able to organize this change process from A to Z for the client,’ says Paul Wessels, Founder/CEO of Blue Module.
